Introduction

Our plan is to cycle across 10 countries, taking all our worldly goods with us in a couple of panniers each, along some of the Eurovelo 6 route which follows the Danube, Rhine and Loire from the Black Sea in Romania to the Atlantic coast of France.  We've bought a one way ticket to Bucharest, Romania, on 6 May and will then make our way westwards. If all goes to plan we should go through Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Germany (Bavaria), Switzerland and France. Hopefully it will be a fascinating journey though diverse cultures, taking in some famous cities along the way: Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava and Belgrade and some beautiful countryside. We’ll see just how far we get and whether the bikes and bodies last out!
